Presentation Objectives

At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Define implicit bias

  • Differentiate implicit bias from explicit bias

  • Describe implicit associations, implicit stereotypes and implicit prejudice

  • Explain the effects of implicit bias in maternal healthcare

  • Understand the connection between implicit bias with healthcare disparities

  • Identify countermeasures to implicit bias
